Zerlina Crafts. Review

We are super fans of Amy at Zerlina's Crafts. We did a review for her last year and use our snack bags constantly!
You can check out that review at

We were also very excited when she contacted us to let us know she was launching new insulated lunch bags. Since our oldest will be starting pre-school this year, and we love to take day trips to the Zoo, Sea-world, and the park I know our new insulated lunch bags will come in handy not to mention they are so unique and functional.

Big Bro is starting to be into big boy things, he got a cool Star Wars print with cotton linen in navy for a bottom and a inner layer of Insul-Bright, to keep his foods hot or cold.
Little Bro loves dinos, I love the bold colorful Dinosaur pattern and a linen cotton base, also with insulated center.

We also have 2 smaller snack sized packs which are great on the go's. I like to keep these in my daily bag with a small snack for the boys. I was thinking this would make a great discrete bag for going to the parks, or the beach, to keep $ and cell phones in.

I love the easy clean of the insulated inside, and if needed you can machine wash and tumble to dry.

Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint Project And Review

Ok where has milk paint been my whole life and why am I just now discovering it???? This paint is awesome!!!!
I recently purchased a old, loved, and used wooden child's desk on a resale page locally and really wanted to do something completely different. I had heard about milk paint but never used it.
I looked around and discovered Miss Mustard Seed. her website is filled with super cool projects she has worked on and her online tutorials made it very easy to discover how to use her products.

What is milk paint you ask???
welllllll its a all natural product containing milk protein, limestone, clay and natural pigment. Milk paint is long lasting and will never peel and is mold resistant. It is also environmentally friendly and is non toxic.

You also can achieve different looks with milk paint (like the antique chippy look) and you actually do not need to prep your surface because it will bond so well!

Miss Mustard Seed has a variety of colors. I told her our project and asked to send us a fun color. We received a bag of the lucketts green.

We also received the bonding agent and furniture wax just to ensure it will maintain its beauty.

So this is our little gem pre makeover... Guess how much I paid???? Ill tell you at the end,

I actually didn't watch the tutorials before starting the project, and didnt realize I didnt need to sand prior to painting with this paint. I had mentioned to my darling husband I needed this sanded and the next day while I was at work he sanded the poop out of it.. Poor guy.. It did have some unevenness and unfortunately It looks like the previous owner left it outdoors thats why the front left leg is trying to take a sharp right.. The left side also has some warping :(

Post sanding, pre painting..

My helpers..

"wow, great job buddy" as mom cringes...

During!.. I almsot wish I would have left just one coat, I like this look!

Love this color!

Taaa daaaaa... There defiantly is some variation in color, sometimes you'll hit a chunk, or the bottom of the cup is slightly different color but I like that! I love Miss Mustard Seeds attitude of just let it be what its going to be. It seems milk paint isn't a exact science and its a lot of add water mix, add powder, see what it looks like. The furniture wax really brought out the color and added a protective layer. Overall I was really happy with how this project turned out and even hubby commented on how easy the paint was to work with.

Ok so what is your guess on how much I paid for the desk??

would you believe $10 smacker-roos!

Noblo Umbrella Buddy Review & Giveaway

Its officially summer in Florida!!!! We did our first beach trip this weekend for Mothers day and were able to try out a product I've been super excited about, The Noblo Umbrella Buddy
This product was created by 2 mothers concerned about the dangers of unsecured umbrellas blowing around the beach. The Noblo is compact enough to fit in your pocket and it is super easy to use.

Easy as
1- Fill bag with sand, cinch closed
2- Attach velcro above umbrella spokes
3- Set bag to the side and enjoy

I would not want my children or myself to be on the other end of a umbrella blowing down the beach. We were able to sit under the umbrella without the worry of it falling down or flying away. It also makes it so you can ensure a constant coverage from the sun. When finished just empty the san and pack in your beach bucket! Super smart!!!

Thank you so much, as a mommy and as a pale freckly girl the safety and sun protection the Noblo provides is awesome!!!! Living in Florida I know our Noblo will get a ton of use! It will also be great to bring to sporting evens or anywhere else the Florida rays are beating down :)

How would you like a Noblo of your own???
